UK-based trans non-binary artist and photographer Bex Wade began their career documenting queer nightlife in London and New York before turning their attention to protest movements and global Pride.
Self-taught photographer Wade became the first trans artist to have their work put on permanent display at the V&A in 2023, with their photograph taken at a 'Ban Conversion Therapy' protest hung next to work by Keith Haring. Wade's work has also been featured in VICE, BBC, The New York Times, British Vogue and has collaborated with commercial clients such as Dr Martens, Google and Getty. 2025 saw Wade's debut solo exhibition open at SLQS Gallery in London, and they are currently working on a long-term project documenting Pride marches and queer protest around the world, capturing events in Havana, Tokyo, Belgrade, the Arctic and Budapest, with more in progress.
